ENHD AD 2.20  Local aerodrome regulations

1  AD availability
1.1 Except for emergency situations AD shall not be used by CIV or MIL ACFT with wingspan exceeding 42 M. Lufthavndrift AS may grant other exceptions based on an Approach and Departure Risk Assessment. Request must be send AD minimum 4 weeks prior to operations.
1.2 Permission for use of AD outside HR of OPER, REF AD 1.1 para 1.3, may be requested by application to AD ADMIN.
1.3 AD is facilitated Level 2. All commercial flights, as well as General and Business Aviation with aircraft of category B or higher, shall submit their schedules to the national Facilitator:

1  Arrival procedures IFR
1.1 Standard instrument arrival procedures (STAR) to Haugesund/Karmøy are based on RNAV 1.
1.2 Aircraft/crew not approved for RNAV 1 in TMA, will normally be vectored to final.
If no surveillance service is available, expect clearance to DVOR/DME KRM and to start the approach from this facility.
2  Procedure under limited visibility conditions
2.1 Aerodrome marking and lighting details, table 2.9 and 2.14, and AD 2 ENHD 2 -1.
2.2 RVR 800 M or less:
Secondary power supply ensures reaction in 1 - one - second.
2.3 RVR 550 M or less:
LVP activated:

1 - one - aircraft on the manoeuvring area at the time. No vehicles allowed on the manoeuvring area except ATC controlled cars for leading and RVR service.

2.4 RVR less than 400 M:
No ACFT operations allowed.
3  Radio communication failure
3.1 If experiencing radio communication failure when flying VFR in CTR (REF AD 2 ENHD 6 - 1, VFR-Routes Light Aircraft):
  1. Squawk 7600,

  2. Proceed via routes shown on chart AD 2 ENHD 6 - 1 to:

    • Kalsto, 1 NM SW of AD, or

    • Visnes, 1 NM NE of AD,

  3. Hold at 750 FT,

  4. Watch TWR for visual signals.

  5. If possible, call Karmoy TWR TEL +47 52 83 07 19.

ENHD AD 2.23  Additional Information

1  Differences from ICAO Annex 14 SARPS
1.1 The NW corner of RESA north, only graded 65 M from RWY CL.
1.2 The transverse transition between strip/RESA and adjacent terrain are steeper than 20 % in the N end and some places on the W side.
1.3 The longitudinal slopes on the graded strip exceeds 1.5 % on the outer part on the E side 500 M from THR RWY 13 and on the outer part on the W side 350 M from THR RWY 31.
1.4 The transverse slopes on the graded strip exceeds 2.5 % W of THR RWY 31 and on four paved areas where VASI-installations previously were situated.
1.5 Terrain 150 M from RWY CL and 350 M from THR RWY 31 rises up to 3.4 M above RWY CL.
1.6 Non-frangible object on RWY strip: Instrument cabins for GP RWY 13 and DME RWY 13, and DME antenna.

2  Caution
2.1 Wind shear/turbulence may occur on short final RWY 13 and 31, especially when wind 170-270 DEG above 25 KT.
