ENMH AD 2.20  Local aerodrome regulations

1  AD availability
1.1 Except for emergency situations AD shall not be used by CIV or MIL ACFT with wingspan exceeding 26 M. Other exceptions will not be granted.
1.2 General permission: Pilots carrying PFLY card issued by Avinor whom operates in accordance with the regulation in AD 1.1 para 1.2 and 1.3 may use AD when it is CLSD, except for the period 2200 – 0600 (2100 – 0500).
1.3 Permission for other use of AD outside HR of OPS, REF AD 1.1 para 1.3, may be requested by a written application to AD ADMIN, REF ENMH AD 2.2.
2  Additional requirements
2.1 CAA Norway has published a regulation, in Norwegian language only, with additional requirements for commercial operations on short-field runways.
Reference to this regulation can be found in AIP GEN 1.6

1  Procedure in reduced visibility
1.1 LGT and marking, REF ENMH AD 2.9, 2.14 and AD 2 ENMH Aerodrome Chart.2-1
1.2 RVR 800 M or less:
  1. Secondary power supply activated to ensure reaction in 1 - one - second.

  2. Only 1 - one - aircraft allowed on the manoeuvring area at the time. No vehicles allowed on the manoeuvring area except for follow-me service and RVR measuring.

1.3 RVR 550 M or less:
  1. LVP not established.No aircraft movements allowed.

2  Radio communication failure
2.1 If experiencing radio communication failure flying VFR in TIZ, REF Visual Approach Chart:
  1. Ssquawk 7600,

  2. Hhold 2 NM W of AD at 1800 FT,

  3. Fflash LDG LGT,

  4. Llook for light signals from camera mast APRX 200 M N of apron,

ENMH AD 2.23  Additional Information

1  Differences from ICAO Annex 14 SARPS
1.1 Part of the apron is located within the strip, REF para 3.4.7.
1.2 Slopes exceed prescribed values on parts of runway strip, REF para 3.4.15 and 3.4.16.
1.3 Undershoot RESA for both runways are shorter than prescribed, REF para 3.5.3.
1.4 The slopes on parts of RESA for both runways are steeper than prescribed, REF para 3.5.10.
1.5 Frangible objects; WDI and wind speed instruments on CWY RWY 17 and WDI on CWY RWY 35. All objects are situated minimum 60 M from extended centre line, REF para 3.6.6.
1.6 The beginning of the aiming point marking is not coincident with the visual approach slope origin, REF para 5.2.5.3.
1.7 RWY AHEAD in use as mandatory instruction marking, REF para 5.2.16.
1.8 Parts of the apron has insufficient floodlight, REF para 5.3.24.4.
1.9 RWY holding point signs are retroreflective, not illuminated, REF para 5.4.1.7.
1.10 Simple touchdown zone lights are replaced by balked LDG guidance lights, REF para 5.3.14.
2  Approach and runway lights
2.1 The APCH LGT and the lights at the aerodrome may be activated automatically, REF AD 1.1.
2.2 The light intensity for circling LGT is adjustable in 4 stages, 3 - 10 - 30 - 100 %.
2.3 The light intensity for APCH, THR, RWY CL and RWY edge LGT is adjustable in 5 stages, 1 - 3 - 10 - 30 - 100 %.
2.4 The light intensity for APAPI is adjustable in 5 stages, 1 - 5 - 10 - 30 - 100 %.
2.5 «Balked LDG guidance lights» installed, 2 Y LGTS outside each edge of RWY, in a given distance after THR, REF AD 2.14.10.
3  Special requirements for aircraft operators performing commercial transportation into Mehamn airport
3.1 The aircraft operator shall stipulate special crew qualification requirements (CAT C, REF EASA AMC1 0RO.FC.105).
3.2 The aircraft operator shall stipulate special limitations with regard to surface wind.
3.3 The aircraft operator shall stipulate special requirements with regard to runway status.
3.4 Aircraft Operators without steep approach approval shall describe how the flight crew shall use the visual aids (visual approach guidance system and runway markings).
3.5 Departure procedures, take-off minima and performance estimates shall be established.
3.6 The aircraft operator shall document fulfilment of the requirements above to CAA Norway at least 14 days prior to commencing operations. Instructions on how to declare compliance is listed in a downloadable pdf-file here: https://avinor.no/en/ais/pilot-briefing/. CAA Norway will, after evaluating the documentation and finding it adequate, issue a letter of compliance. A copy of this letter has to be carried by the crew and presented to local airport authorities or representatives of CAA Norway on request.
4  Caution
4.1 Turbulence warning available on www.ippc.no.
4.2 In voice communication from ATS, including ATIS, wind direction is given as magnetic direction.
In written communication, METAR, SPECI and TAF, the geographical wind direction is given. Hence, there will be a difference between wind direction given orally from ATS, including ATIS, and written MET information.
4.3 Birds and reindeer may occur at the AD.
5  Remote tower
5.1 Remote AFIS is provided from RTC Bodø (Remote Tower Centre).
5.2 Signaling lamp positioned at camera mast APRX 200 M N of apron/terminal.
