ENOL AD 2.20  Local aerodrome regulations

1  AD availability
1.1 AD may only be used within air traffic services opening hours.
2  Prior permission required (PPR)
2.1 PPR from Ørland Air Station is required for all ACFT planning use of AD (LDG, TRNG, Take-Off).
Contact WING OPS, REF AD 2.2.

Request for PPR shall include:

  • ACFT call sign / registration

  • Date / time

  • Intention of flight

  • Name of ACFT owner

  • Name of local point of contact

  • Name of pilot

  • Contact details

2.2 Assigned PPR number shall be quoted in item 18 in FPL.

ENOL AD 2.21  Noise abatement procedures

1  Noise Abatement Procedures

The following noise abatement procedures are mandatory for jet ACFT and multi-engined ACFT unless otherwise instructed by ATC, or unless deviations are necessary in the interest of safety.

1.1  General
1.1.1 Overflying the build-up areas at Brekstad and Uthaug shall to the greatest extent possible be avoided on visual arrival and departure.
1.2  Departure/Climb-out
1.2.1 After take-off RWY 15 climb straight ahead to minimum 500 FT. Do not commence turn before passing the shoreline, DME 0.3 ORL.
1.2.2 After take-off RWY 33 climb straight ahead to minimum 500 FT. Do not commence turn before passing the shoreline, DME 2.8 ORL.
1.2.3 Fighters shall comply with MIL procedures.

ENOL AD 2.22  Flight Procedures

1  Radio communication failure procedure for VFR flights in CTR
1.1 If radio communication failure when flying VFR in CTR
(REF AD 2 ENOL 6 - 1, Visual Approach Chart)
  1. Squawk 7600,

  2. From VFR reporting point Garten or Storfosna,
    proceed at 500 FT to shoreline W of TWR and watch TWR for visual signals.

  3. From VFR reporting point Austrått, proceed at 500 FT to the airport fence E of TWR and watch TWR for visual signals.

Note: Beware of landing pattern traffic, GA at 1000 FT and fighter aircraft at 1500 FT.

2  Operations in reduced visibility
2.1 Aerodrome markings and lights; REF table 2.9, 2.14 and AD 2 ENOL Aerodrome Chart2-1.
2.2 VIS 1200 M or less:
Secondary power supply engaged to ensure switch-over within one second.
2.3 RVR 550 M or less:
LVP not established. No aircraft operations allowed.
3  Procedures for arriving IFR flights
3.1 Standard instrument arrival procedures (STAR) to Ørland are based on RNAV 1.
3.2 Aircraft without RNAV 1 approval will be radar vectored to final, or cleared/vectored to a point from where an approach can be made. Inform Polaris Control on initial contact if unable to perform RNAV 1 approach.

ENOL AD 2.23  Additional Information

1  Bird collision hazard
1.1 The Ørland peninsula is located in an area with large bird collections. The most exposed areas are the shore lines W and SE of AD. During the summer season agricultural activity along RWY and TWY can cause bird concentrations. The peak bird periods are MAR - APR and AUG - SEP.
1.2 The AD is situated close to heavily used spring and autumn bird migration routes.
2  Air sport, RPAS and model air plane activity
2.1 Activity involving RPAS inside the 5 KM-zone shall be notified in NINOX DRONE for permission granted by ATC and the Norwegian military. For more information, see https://avinor.no/en/corporate/at-the-airport/drones/.
2.2 Air sport area for paragliding is established SE of AD at lake Botn. Upper limit 3000 FT.
3  Approach and runway lights
3.1 The light intensity for THR, RWY edge, and RWY end LGT is adjustable in 6 stages, intensity 0.3 - 1 - 3 - 10 - 30 - 100 %, REF AD 1.1.
3.2 The light intensity for PAPI LGT is adjustable in 64 stages, intensity 0.3 - 1 - 3 - 10 - 30 - 1001 - 10 - 30 - 100 %, REF AD 1.1.
4  Video recording and photography prohibited
4.1 Photography and recording of video, etc. is prohibited on- and towards the military area at Ørland Main Air station.
REF “Provisional Act for the control of geographic information” § 2 and 4. This also includes photography and video recordings done by passengers and crew involved in general aviation-, commercial- and air taxi operations to and from Ørland.
